| Comments: | I'm looking for a long lost kin by the name of Arnel Gaviola Mendoza who I believe is a graduate of DWU in Tacloban. I met his father in New York who did not see him from the time he was born sometime in the 70's. Arnel wrote a letter to his father at Sampaloc Manila but the letter did not reach his father on time. When we tried to get in touch with him, he's no longer living in the return address indicated in the letter. I would appreciate if you could help us look for Arnel. | Comments: | Dear Lilia Amorilllo, The former World War II U.S. military hangar was burned down. It was used as a gym for many athletic and social functions by the institution and the public, such as concert and political convention. What I didn't know was that it also housed a morgue as you mentioned the "care takers." Maupay nga adlaw. God bless> |

| Comments: | It's good that DWU resurrected as Liceo de Verbo Divino offering basic education. But we all know that the charisma of DWU was really good Catholic higher education - tertiary level and graduate school. In fact it was the only Catholic University in Reg. VIII, and it closure was a shocker. I propose that all the alumni/ae and persons of good will whose lives DWU touched in one way or another contribute to making Liceo as great and noble as DWU, so that it will be able to offer tertiary education in the very near future. If there is interest, the DWU Jubilee Foundation can organize a mammoth fund raising drive to restore DWU to its former greatness.... |

When I transferred to another school, my classmates would discriminate me coz I spoke in English. They teased me "anak han padi". Yes, I remember holding a piece of wood when you're caught speaking in your local dialect. My other siblings were Bernardita, Benedicta, Victoria, Clothilda, Maria, Victor and Michael. I will always be beholden to DWU, for the knowledge, for the breeding taught, for the memories of a 1st class university.
